Steps to Register

Delaying registration may affect your access to classes and services. 

Visa & Immigration

Requirements depend on your nationality and stay duration. 

  • No visa required to enter Spain. 
  • Staying >3 months? Apply for a NIE (Foreigner Identification Number) after arrival. 
  • Student visa required before traveling. 
  •  
  • Key steps:  
    • Check visa type (long-stay for >6 months; short-stay for ≤6 months).
    •  
    • Gather documents 
    • Valid passport. 
    • TBS admission letter. 
    • Proof of accommodation. 
    • Health insurance  
    • Financial proof (e.g., bank statements). 
    • Criminal background check (for long-stay visas). 
  • Apply early: Processing takes 2–3 months. 

Important: 

  • You cannot enter Spain as a tourist and switch to a student visa later. 
  • Minors (<18) require parental authorization and a legal guardian in Spain. 

Health Insurance (Mandatory)

Health insurance is mandatory for studying in Spain and must be arranged before you travel. The type of coverage depends on your nationality. Keep in mind that insurance must cover the full duration of your stay starting from your arrival date and make sure you have digital and printed proof of your insurance policy.

Bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) 

EHIC copy must be submitted before the program starts 

Private health insurance is mandatory 

 

Insurance must meet Spanish visa requirements (Be valid in Spain, cover the entire duration of your stay, have no co-payments or deductibles, include hospitalization, primary care, and repatriation, start from your arrival date) 

Important:
